Musi-Tech Education

Midpoint in my undergraduate Business studies, a childhood friend of mine informed me that Business Majors in the Florida State University System have 50% of the required Mathematics classes for a Minor or additional Bachelor's degree in Secondary (Middle School and High School) Mathematics. This was too tempting to pass up and in essence, I became a “Dual Major”, dual-enrolled at  FAU and Broward College (back then, called Broward Community College). I spent a few years teaching Math for Palm Beach County and eventually, the Recording Arts at the Dillard Center for the Performing Arts and Coconut Creek High School in Broward County. Additionally, I have lectured at/for Post-Secondary Institutions such as  FAU, Appalachian State, Full Sail, SAE Miami, and Brevard Community College. My crowning achievement in “Music-cation” was the Co-Creation of the SouthEast Pro Tools Training Center (now called ProMedia Training) with legendary Music Technologist, David Frangioini. I was able to teach, write, and Publish the first-ever formal Pro Tools Curriculum as well as the first-ever all-dedicated Pro Tools Training book “Pro Tools Up-N-Running”.

How did I end up teaching and lecturing? As with my Music Technology chops which got me into Recording and Production gigs, my consulting and creation of curriculums for Academia led me into teaching and Lecturing/Workshop opportunities.

  • Writing custom Curriculums for Commercial Music Business programs on the Secondary and Post-Secondary academic levels. I have done this  for High School Districts, Community Colleges, State Universities and Private Colleges, and of course, Vocational Schools.
  • Co-created the first All-Pro Tools Training Center in Miami and Nashville, eventually leading to 10 campuses, from Atlanta and New York to LA.
  • Published Author of the first-ever Pro Tools book Training Manual called "Pro Tools Up-N-Running".
  • Recently co-authored and Co-Taught  an Introductory Logic Course at Ridenour Music Academy at Markee Studios.
  • Recently became an Adjunct Professor for the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University.
  • Currently partnered with IU, FAU, Broward College, and Palm Beach State College for Internships.

Because Education Still Matters...

Below is a list of all the academic institutions I've consulted for and what my role was in helping to develop each's curriculum.
